I had the same goal as you - to enjoy the day... You can do things like make sure you smile at every single volunteer, give a wave to everyone with a camera, and before you know it's really tough but you're still out there smiling and waving, and hey, you're enjoying yourself.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;It's also very cool to do the race alongside someone special.  At one point near the end, Torbin was riding beside me on the bike, and he said, "It's such a perfect day."  I looked around and it was like I was just noticing the sunshine and scenery for the first time.  It was awesome.  I really really enjoyed Torbin riding along on the bike beside me (he rode with me from about 34-38km).  It's hard to describe how awesome it was to have him there.  It was pretty funny too, because I had no energy for talking so I was communicating with sign language - he was talking and joking and I could only respond with a thumbs up.  &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;You sound like you're ready to have a great time at Big Sur.  I'm really looking forward to hearing about your trip.
